User license check
When a user logs in, the system conducts an internal license check. The following client license types are supported:
-
Administration licenses
-
Search licenses
-
Workplace licenses
-
Business Process Management licenses
The available license types and amount of license seats for a specific system is defined in the ImageMaster license file that is deposited by a system administrator during the installation [IM ImageMaster]. All further license management is dynamically done based on user permissions so there is no functionality to assign any kind of license to a specific user via the AdminClient.
Whenever a user enters a specific view in the client, which can be accessed based on the user’s permissions, the system also conducts an internal license check and assigns the needed license type to this user. You can view the license types that the system assigned to a specific user in the User management configuration room. The license type is displayed if a “seat license”1 is used. A user has access only to those client modules, where a license could still be assigned by the system.
Consequently, access to specific functionality may be denied to a user if no license of a specific type or no more license seat is available. Furthermore, if a license for a specific type has expired, a license violation page will be displayed with information on the affected license.
