Services categorization

Within the Integration Service environment a finer distinction can be drawn between services which target at different functional aspects. Services may be used for administration or for basic document management purposes and an internal interface is provided, i.e. the IntegrationBeans API, for native ImageMaster client access which also provides the means for system configuration.

Whereas the internal interface is not exposed for conventional integration purposes, and in practice, the system configuration and the usage of the system management services is mainly relevant for system initialization, the document management services, which are supposed to provide a sufficient minimal set of common document management operations, cover the typically recurring use case scenarios such as finding, creating, or manipulating documents and related contents.

The Integration Service may be equipped with additional Web services (see chapter Cross-sectional web services) and extensions (see chapter Extensions).
