Introduction and system overview
The ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail add an e-mail archiving feature to Microsoft Exchange that allows reducing storage consumption at Exchange server level. The following modes of operation are supported:
-
Archiving service for mailboxes to selectively move e-mails to an ImageMaster storage controlled by the e-mail recipients
This rule-based archiving, which puts focus on end-users and is pre-configured by the system administration, can be combined with the interactive processing, where a user can decide which e-mails to archive via an Outlook Add-In.
-
Final archive for mailboxes to archive all items (e-mails, calendar and contacts) from an Exchange Server mailbox to secure them in ImageMaster (before the planned decommissioning and deletion of this mailbox in Exchange)
-
Compliance service for e-mail to archive all e-mails at Exchange server level according to compliance policy settings that are controlled by the system administration
In an Exchange Online (Office 365) environment only the “compliance archive” scenario is supported, which is provided by the ImageMaster “compliance service for e-mail”.
