Introduction and overview
The ImageMaster WorkplaceClient is a Web application that provides a Graphical User Interface to an end user who needs to accomplish basic document management tasks in an ImageMaster environment. It is an online application that requires access to the corresponding server software (the ImageMaster Integration Services with the internal Integration Beans API).
Typical document management tasks to be handled by the WorkplaceClient include:
-
archiving, updating and deleting documents as well as managing document attributes
-
search and retrieval of electronically stored documents
-
navigation through stocks of documents based on hierarchical filing structures (files)
-
tracking recent activities
Meaningful usage of the WorkplaceClient is only possible with a readily configured base system that must particularly provide custom document types that will differ from the exemplary ones in this manual. With corresponding user permissions the WorkplaceClient may also be used for administrative purposes such as user and role management, archive configuration or customizing document types. These topics are covered in the separately available AdminClient user manual [UM AdminClient].
The ImageMaster WorkplaceClient supports several commonly used Web browsers. However, certain Web browsers might cause some ImageMaster functionality to be downgraded, limited, or available only through alternative steps. In some cases, functionality might be unavailable. Customers who want a more deeply validated browser interaction experience should strongly consider Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. See the compatibility guide [T Compatibility Guide] for details on the supported versions.
