Attributes configuration

You can add an arbitrary number of attributes to each document type. These attributes define metadata of a document and appear as fields in dialogs of the WorkplaceClient. Attributes are constrained by an input type to restrict a value to a certain range, e.g. text, decimal or date.

Click Select Document Type and choose the desired one from the list. Open the Attributes tab. The list box in the left area contains identifiers of attributes defined for the current document type.

You can visually differentiate between attribute families (normal, linked, system, and virtual attributes):

  • Referenced attributes are shown in italic.

  • System and virtual attributes are shown in gray.

You can adjust the order of the attributes. To do this, select an attribute and then click the arrow buttons next to the attribute list, or use drag and drop. By default, system attributes are always last. This order determines the default order in dialogs of the WorkplaceClient.

Select an attribute to display its properties in the right-hand side:
