File Shares

The File Shares administration panels allow configuring all required settings for the File Share Archiving feature. File Share Archiving realizes the transfer of selected files from server machines into the ImageMaster archive according to the predefined rules. The central configuration is stored in ImageMaster directly and will be delivered to requesting File Share Archiving services to let them proceed.

Access to the File Share Archiving administration panel is restricted by a separate permission which can be assigned in the general administration permissions tab of the role creation panel. The access to the administration panel is disabled if no license for file share archiving is available.

Exceptional cases in the file share configuration

An existing configuration can refer to objects that can be changed or even deleted in other rooms of AdminClient. So, referenced document types, users, and roles could have been deleted “externally” from this configuration room:

  • Missing document types: If a document type that is referenced in the configuration does not exist anymore, then only its name is displayed, probably in italic. It will not be possible to save the configuration but the administrator has the option to remove this document type. If the document type is still referenced by other configuration parts, e.g. mappings, it can be removed in case this has been fixed too.

  • Missing user: If the user configured for basic authentication for the Integration web service does not exist anymore, it is removed from the configuration. Thus, the drop-down field in the configuration panel becomes empty and the configuration cannot be saved anymore.

  • Missing password alias: In case password alias has been removed, the first password from the aliases list is set by ImageMaster automatically. In case unexpected authentication error occurs, check all the password aliases.

  • Missing role: If the role that is configured for accessing the Integration web service does not exist anymore, it is removed from the configuration. Thus, the role input field in the configuration panel becomes empty and the configuration cannot be saved anymore.
