Protocol files

In the course of a running process FIS generates three types of protocol files with the default suffix “.prot” and with different prefixes:

• STATE: for the current process state, which is periodically updated during the process’s runtime

• SUCCESS: for successfully imported files

• ERROR: for failed imports

The default location of the protocol files is the batch directory. In addition to that, another directory can be specified, which receives copies of all protocol files (see parameter “p” in appendix Command line commands and parameters).

Protocol files are generated in an XML structure. One entry is characterized by the element “<entry>” with several sub-elements that provide more information on the entry. See Protocol file structures for details on the structure of the protocol files.
