Introduction
IMA Shell is written in Ruby and runs on native Ruby and JRuby (an implementation of Ruby for the JVM). The JRuby implementation allows for assembling IMA Shell in form of a JAR archive that contains all dependencies. Hence, you can run IMA Shell on any system that has a Java runtime – no further components are necessary.
IMA Shell is also designed to be used as an installation tool that enables a fully automated installation of ImageMaster 9. It can either be called by an installation script directly, or, you can write your installation procedure directly as a Ruby class using IMA Shell’s library functions.
