Database installation

ImageMaster supports multiple database systems. For details on the supported product versions see the compatibility guide [T Compatibility Guide]. A dedicated installation guide is available for each supported database:

You can set up a separate database for audit trails, where you must use the same database scripts for the data model creation according to the installation guides above. Also see Best practices for audit trails.

Note:

In case of the database type “Microsoft SQL Server”, if you intend to use and obtain a license for the audit trail feature, you must set up two separate databases (one as the default and the other one as the audit trail database).

Before starting with the application server installation, it is strongly recommended having the database set up with an ImageMaster instance. During the database setup the following parameters will be defined, which must all be known here to complete the application server installation:

  • database host (Server Name / IP)

  • database (instance) name (corresponding to an Oracle “SID”)

  • database user (e.g. “ima9adm”) with password

  • database listener/connection port (e.g. 1521 by default in an Oracle environment)

These parameters must later be set in the following step:

Depending on which ImageMaster components you plan to use, also set up the database indexes as described in:
