Modify an existing Microsoft Office document

  1. The user opens an MS Office document in the WorkplaceClient.

The documents retrieved are locked for editing in ImageMaster.

  2. The native Microsoft 365 application opens this document (Word, Excel or Outlook).

    • The file suffix of an Office document (e.g. “docx” for MS Word) must be configured in the browser and Windows to automatically open each any MS Office document type with the corresponding Office application (Word, Excel or Outlook).
  3. The user changes the document via the default Office functionality.

  4. ImageMaster functionality is provided within Microsoft 365 by an OfficeClient add-In:

    • Save the document as working copy in ImageMaster.

Only the current user can see these changes.

    • Update the document in ImageMaster as a new revision.

Any user with access rights can see this latest revision.

  5. The document update is done via the OfficeClient Coordinator and Integration Service.
