The ImageMaster SearchClient focuses purely on search use cases. If only the SearchClient is licensed, this only supports operations that are based on read access based on read-only functions to search and retrieve. You cannot create or update any documents in the archive with the SearchClient.
In such a scenario it is still possible that the Integration Service is used for document creation or updates in the background. It is also common practice to license only a few instances of the WorkplaceClient in parallel, which are employed by a limited number of users to create or update documents.
Read-only functionality in the SearchClient includes the following:
