Side effects with Microsoft Exchange litigation hold and recoverable items

The Microsoft Exchange Litigation Hold feature uses the Recoverable Items folder to preserve items [MS Litigation Hold]. Before Microsoft Exchange 2016 this folder was called the “dumpster”. There are use cases with ImageMaster, which can cause a growth of items in this folder. To avoid this, make sure that one of the following conditions is met:

• Only use cached profiles.

• Disable the Microsoft Litigation Hold feature and do not use it in combination with ImageMaster.

In the latter case ImageMaster’s “Legal Holds” feature combined with the ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail “compliance archive” mode could be an alternative solution.
