Documented upgrade paths
Within this manual all information is included to handle upgrades from any of the source releases 9.12.2/9.13.2/9.14.1 to the current target release 9.14.2.
Patch releases
ImageMaster patch releases, also denoted as “micro releases”, which change the fourth digit of the ImageMaster release version from 9.x.y.A to 9.x.y.B (with B > A), are designed in a most compatible manner, which avoids upgrade efforts. Such upgrades usually only require the following procedure:
-
Check the release notes. They can provide special instructions for a patch release upgrade.
If no special instructions are given in the release notes, just follow these steps:
-
If a component like the ImageMaster assembly is affected, undeploy the ImageMaster assembly EAR file 9.x.y.A.
-
Deploy the new ImageMaster EAR file 9.x.y.B.
These patch release upgrades are not described any further in the upgrade manual. However, it can also happen occasionally that additional measures are needed in such a patch upgrade. For example, the application server may need to be restarted. In such a case the latest release notes for the patch release will provide further information.
