Master password issues

If the master password has been changed with the AdminClient and the application server is restarted (without specifying the same master password in the application server configuration), all internal modules which rely on the password manager will fail! This can also affect many administration pages such as the Archives Configuration (see chapter Archives configuration) because connections to the storage usually rely on the password that is managed in the password store.

In the server log, this is reflected by severe error messages, which contain information like the following:

…|SEVERE|304|…|…|…|…PWM-00001: invalid master password for the password manager (or corrupt password store).|#)

As a temporary workaround of this issue, unlock the password manager with the correct master password (see chapter Password manager ).

To resolve this issue permanently, the new master password must also be set in the application server configuration according to ImageMaster password manager in the installation manual [IM ImageMaster].
