ARM concepts and ARM environment

Recovery processes within the ARM environment support multiple repair methods:

  • Recovery with stubs (rec-repair-stubs):

This method specifically addresses stubs that are generated when an ImageMaster archive enters “maintenance mode”. The replacement operation is limited to these stubs, ensuring all non-stub file entries remain unaltered.

  • Recovery within a time range (rec-repair-timerange):

This method enables recovery within a specified time range, independent of maintenance mode status. It verifies and recovers all files within the specified time range, including both stub and non-stub files. Non-stub files are checked for correctness; if their checksum does not match or the file is missing, they are copied from an alternate archive.
