The engine configuration defines the start parameters for all Flowable components (including the engine). This configuration is read at ImageMaster deployment time. If the configuration is missing, no workflow functionality will be available in the deployed application. If the configuration is invalid, there will be a deployment error.
The configuration file must exist, but can be left empty to start with default values. This means specifically:

The database table of all Flowable components will be created in the ImageMaster database.
