Archives configuration
The Archives configuration room provides access to all of the configured archives in the system and allows you to create new archives.
A physical archive must be installed on a dedicated machine which is accessible in the network. This installation itself may require further configuration steps which are not in the scope of this administration room (e.g. concerning basic network settings and port administration, or further connection settings which are specific to the storage provider). Also see the description of a scenario for a standard archive storage configuration in chapter Configuring an archive storage.
ImageMaster retention management is compatible with the retention management functionality of Amazon S3, ECS, Hitachi HCP and NetApp SnapLock.
An archive configuration is accomplished by these steps:
-
Defining basic connection parameters in the Archives tab according to the subsequent chapters
-
Combining physical archives into an archive configuration in the Realms tab
See chapter Realms configuration
-
Optional: Setting up auto recovery for the archive in the Recovery Settings tab
See chapter Auto recovery configuration
