Information Lifecycle Management for ERP
ImageMaster has been certified to support the SAP ILM WebDAV storage interface according to the underlying SAP certification specification [SAP ILM WebDAV]. This allows for the storage of archived data on external storage systems connected via the WebDAV protocol [RFC4918] covering the following capabilities: WORM-like immutability, retention management, legal hold management, WebDAV-like metadata management in a hierarchy and controlled destruction of objects obeying retention constraints.
An SAP ILM enabled ImageMaster system requires an according ImageMaster base installation with the additional configuration of a SAP content server and a password for system authentication. See SAP ILM connection settings in the administration manual [UM AdminClient] for details.
SAP ILM integration is based on XML based archiving [SAP ILM WebDAV], which relies on HTTP requests and WebDAV methods. On the whole the following use cases are supported:
-
Archiving: Storing a resource in an immutable fashion (reliably, i.e. atomically and durably).
-
Retention Management:
-
Getting or setting an expiration date for a resource (whilst ensuring deletion protection until expiry).
-
Prolonging retention (increasing an expiration date for a resource).
-
-
Legal Hold: Removing or setting a legal hold a resource (with deletion protection independent from retention expiry).
-
Destruction of objects obeying retention constraints and legal hold constraints.
The documents created by ArchiveLink or SAP ILM with an expiration date or legal hold are protected against updates or deletion even if accessed via any other interface.
