Document preview and printing with the integrated viewer

ImageMaster is fitted with an integrated document viewer. It cannot be guaranteed that the preview in this viewer looks exactly the same as the rendition of the original file in its source application.

The preview in the form of a raster graphics (with possibly multiple pages) is generated in the background by automatically converting the original file. If any errors occur in the process, a corresponding message is reported and a placeholder is displayed instead of the preview. The placeholder is also displayed if the attachment preview is deactivated by the system administrator.

Printing directly via one of the integrated ImageMaster functions is also based on the internal conversion. This can cause certain font styles not to be reproduced correctly in the printed hard copy and differences in the layout can occur.

Alternatively, to view the content of a document, you can download the ImageMaster document attachment in its original format and open it with a local application. If a preview of a certain file type is not supported, the file will be offered for download by clicking the “Open Attachment” icon in the preview window. The following chapters are related to document previews:

If the document format itself contains attachments (such as e-mails), these are not printed/displayed by ImageMaster. The document (here the MSG file) can be downloaded and displayed in the original viewer (in the example the mail program) and printed if necessary.
