Setting a database instance
Before setting a database instance be sure that you switch the current user, i.e. log off and log in again as “imamsxadmin”. Also see the installation check list Installation check list.
Note that the Coordinator database needs the same charset as ImageMaster.
-
Oracle database:
Execute only the steps described in chapter Creating database user and schema in [IG Oracle] to use the ImageMaster database installation. For a separate installation, execute all steps from chapter Introduction to chapter Creating database user and schema in [IG Oracle].
-
Microsoft SQL Server database:
Refer to the section Creation of the database, login, and user in [IG SQL Server] and execute only steps described in this chapter to use the ImageMaster database installation; for a separate installation: execute all steps from chapter Introduction to chapter Windows authentication and steps described in chapter Creation of the database, login, and user. (For setting the ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail database it is not required for the database user to be a member of the SqlJDBCXAUser role.)
Because of a limitation of SQL Server, a job for an entry ID with more than 900 characters cannot be inserted and the following error occurs "The index entry of length 1024 bytes for the index 'PK__jobs_bat__D124D3D591CC3894' exceeds the maximum length of 900 bytes". Entry IDs are the identifiers for mailboxes and e-mails in Exchange and their maximal length is not defined by Microsoft. The ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail support entry IDs up until 1024 characters.
-
PostgreSQL database:
For instructions refer to [IG PostgreSQL]:
If you want to use an existing ImageMaster database installation, follow the instructions from section Create and configure database cluster to set up a cluster that is dedicated to the ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail.
If you want to use a separate database installation for the ImageMaster Content Services for E-Mail, start with the instructions Install base software and then set up the cluster.
Finally, start the database cluster (see section Create ImageMaster database with ImageMaster 9 model”).
